Amanda is a freelance Director/Choreographer and until recently was the Theatre Manager at Nottingham Arts Theatre. Trained as a dancer, Amanda has performed in theatres locally & has worked for Sky TV on several info-commercials, has recorded with BBC Radio 2, performed at Pebble Mill Studios and has worked for Roundabout at Nottingham Playhouse (Theatre In Education). Over the last 25 years she has directed, and or choreographed many local companies. Amanda is also responsible for staging & choreographing many pantomimes & several revues, including 2 charity revues at Nottingham Playhouse for the British Red Cross.
As part of her role as Theatre Manager at Nottingham Arts Theatre, Amanda encouraged the growth of educational activities for all ages and abilities including workshops (performance, mask making, drawing & painting and technical), salsa and tap classes, Page to Stage & a Bank Holiday Weekend Challenge. Amanda developed links with many City & County Secondary Schools through an extensive programme of work experience.
In October 2006 Amanda ran a week long musical theatre workshop in Poznan, Poland with students aged 16 to 26. Amanda has also worked with the after school clubs within Play Area Two supported by Nottingham City Council. During 2007 Amanda set up Spotlight Theatre School in Netherfield & worked this year with Nottingham Emmanuel School to develop their own Post 16 Theatre Company. She is currently a member of Carlton Operatic Society & Nottingham Operatic Society and is Business Manager for NOS Youth Group. For the last 3 years Amanda has taken groups of students to Loughborough University to take part in the NODA youth workshops & now looks foward to meeting many more youth members from our region.
